Contribute to reward and trust fund for injured employee
2/4/10
Harold Cabral was the city employee driving the backhoe who was severely beaten by a mob of "juveniles" on February 1.
His recovery will certainly take some time. The local IBEW union has started a trust fund to help him out. If you wish to contribute send donations to:
Harold Cabral Fund
c/o IBEW Local 2376
111 Amador St.
Vallejo CA, 94590
If you wish to contribute to the reward being offered to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators contact:
Sergeant Kevin Bartlett--Vallejo PD
(707) 651-7145
We at VIB wish Harold the very best for a speedy recovery.

Help for Haiti
An easy way for people to help with a relatively small donation, the cost of three lattes, is to text 90999 into your cell phone. You can then donate $10 that will go directly to the Red Cross and will have the amount charged to your next cell phone bill. Once you text 90999, you type in "Haiti". You receive a reply from the Red Cross confirming your donation request and you reply "yes". This will confirm your donation and send the money to the Red Cross. In the short time this has been active, they have raised over a million dollars. So even a small amount can go far to help. Money is the best way to get the life saving supplies to the poor people of Haiti and through a trusted organization.

Come Laugh at Our Expense
By Katy Miessner
The Mira Theatre Guild entices: “Come laugh at our expense” and promises an evening of non-stop laughs with the “three of the best young comic in San Francisco” in Vallejo just to entertain you.
And I think they could be accurate based on the program!
The headliner, Greg Asdourian, has been called the "Best Young Comic in San Francisco". Not sure who said this (couldn’t find a quote attributed to anyone on the internet); Asdourian’s MySpace page says "Greg Asdourian is hilarious! (Sam Hurwitt, East Bay Express)” and “Greg Asdourian is a hilarious individual" (Casey Ley, Pirate Cat Radio). Pirate Cat radio puts their money where their mouth is, Asdourian is a regular with a January 25th gig at Pirate Cat Café in San Francisco that will also be broadcast live. |
