The first in a five-part speaker’s series, “Budgeting as if YOU Mattered”, was a success. Approximately 40 people came out (on a “school night”) to listen to and ask questions about other ways of municipal budgeting and the delivery of city services. The event was video taped and will be available to view on VCAT and VIB, as well as my website, within the next week.
Due to scheduling conflicts, however, the second speaker’s panel on regionalizing public safety (Previously scheduled for December 1, 2010) has been postponed until January. I’ll keep you posted when we have a new date and time for this forum. In the mean time, the next free public forum about contract cities and what it means to be a contract city is still on schedule for December 15, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Joseph Room of the JFK Library. For more information, visit: www.martibrown.com. I hope to see you there.
