 VPD Open House

4/6/14 -- Here are some pictures from last weekend's open house hosted by The Vallejo PD. It was a great event, and even VIB staff photog Angelo Paparazzi was treated to barbecue and fun...in stead of the business end of a billy club as usual!

The Emperors wear no pants

4/6/14 -- Dr. Fiddlesticks says he's always in the know. He says all will be revealed in good time. But what does it mean? Your guess is as good as mine. It's slightly naughty though.

NBC 11 Story on Discovery Kingdom

4/3/14 -- Today, Jodi Hernandez from NBC 11 was on the scene at Lake Chabot for a follow up look at the pollution issue.

In reaction to the video and podcast VIB put out with Doug Darling, there was a flurry of activity on the DK side of the lake, and several, but not all issues were corrected.

DK also claims to have done the cleanup of Chabot Creek, however, sources indicate that the work was done by Cal. Fire rather than DK.

So far, it looks like typical corporate damage control procedure.

Time will tell if DK has decided to behave responsibly. You can be sure that Doug Darling will be vigilant, and VIB will continue to report.

PODCAST with Doug Darling for OZCAT Radio 89.5 FM Vallejo

VIB NEWS ATTACK –  4/2/14 - This past Sunday, VIB took a boat ride with environmental activist Doug Darling on Vallejo's Lake Chabot. The lake, which is shared by Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Dan Foley Park has been the topic of a previous story on VIB and Bay Area Channel 11 because of debris either dumped in the lake, or allowed to enter the watershed through negligence on the part of Discovery Kingdom. Images start at 1:35

Discovery Kingdom made promises to clean up their mess. They have done nothing. Structures along the shore continue to decay. Foam, pressure treated lumber, painted plywood, outdoor carpet and other debris continues to fall into Lake Chabot, a lake used by the citizens of Vallejo for fishing, boating and recreation.

Attached is a podcast with Doug which is being played on Ozcat radio. I have included pictures of the pollution both current and historic with the upload. OUR FULL VIDEO OF THE CURRENT POLLUTION AND DEBRIS, UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WILL BE NEXT.

Isn't it time for Six Flags, a profitable multi-million dollar corporation, to stop dumping on Vallejo?

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT DISCOVERY KINGDOM VALLEJO UNTIL THIS MESS IS CLEANED UP.
