6/20/12 -- Public meeting on Vallejo Plan to be held tonight at Empress Theatre
Public to be given opportunity to express concerns and voice priorities regarding economic concerns and quality of life issues in Vallejo.
Representatives from various city departments to be present. Empress Theatre from 6-8 PM
NOTE: VIB has been specifically requested NOT TO film this event by city staff. We were also never issued a press release from COV even after requesting one and being assured that we have been on the list all along. The meeting is also scheduled to coincide with the Citizens Public Safety Committee meeting. Kinda makes you wonder if the city really wants citizen input...or just the sham appearance of making an effort. Questions or comments contact Michelle Hightower: 648-4506 --

Remember...in Vallejo your silence is Golden and Your absence is cherished. So be there to piss them off...or clone yourself and go to both meetings!
The Citizens Public Safety Advisory Committee will meet Wednesday, June 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 555 Santa Clara Street, Downtown Vallejo. The meeting will be live streamed on the City's website and broadcast live on Channel 28.
Chief of Police Robert Nichelini and Captain Tony Pearsall (retired) will make presentations about Beat Health aka Community Policing. This was an active, successful program prior to budget cuts. The possibility of restoring it through citizen participation will be explored.
6/18/12 -- Here is some footage from the ribbon cutting and dedication alongside Native American protests at the new Glen Cove Waterfront Park. Held Saturday June 16, 2012.
Special thanks to Jackson Jean for shooting this footage while I was out of town. M.G.

@ Clarke thank you for your evolved comments, however it might be free for users but keep in mind this site is supported by a handful of dedicated volunteers . What is really free is the
ability for folks to express their ideas and opinions thus FREE SPEACH ,VIB is our own gem a non MSM Oasis in the desert of corporate tabloid crap . For any new comers check out the archives and especially the H Martin Articles they will blow ya outa your socks .

Congrats to GVRD and the communities that will embrace the park! It's wonderful to have the bay trail connection!

I was at the park dedication. One "native American" protestor was walking amongst the crowd down by the water chastising everyone for desecrating the graves and "walking on dead people." One guy in the crowd so eloquently asked, "then why are you walking here?"
It's a beautiful park and something Vallejo can be proud of for for a long time to come. Thanks GVRD!

Well now we know, the protesters will continue to tell people lies and misleading information because they need new blood to get up set and put the professional protesters on TV. That's the entire plan. The protester are now saying you can't trust the MLD tribes. Why didn't they tell them that to their faces when then were here? They couldn't wait to cozy up to them during the meeting. Now they call them liars and cheats. Shameful.
Regardless, the park is built and in time will fill in to be a lush meadow and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the wonderful view of the waterfront. I found it odd that those who protested about benches were seen sitting on them. Those who complained about restrooms were seen using the port-a-potties. Guess they do come in handy after all.
See you at our new park.

About the Glen Cove protestors- seems to me they had a pretty good run last year with plenty of exposure until the legitimate native reps came along and resolved things.
Now they are back raining on the parade like so many spoiled brats who can't have it there way every day.
Time to find another midden to protest, I mean protect.

I go to Topix to vent ( yes, I admit it), and to get a sense of the intellectual level of Vallejo( true, an imperfect gauge) but more often moronic than not.
I come to VIB to read ideas and glean intelligence from those in the know, and get a sense of the more evolved in Vallejo. I also find it to be a good platform for sounding my ideas without immediate ad hom attacks. And that, to me, is a good measure of the quality and value at this site.

Wharf rat is right. No-one will always agree with others. Nonetheless, this website provides a community service, insuring that Vallejo is not a one-horse town when it comes to the news. Even better, visiting and posting on this site is free to users. Our community is improved for it. Sadly, many comments here are low, cheap shots, lacking substance or thought. Being mean-spirited is a common element; diminishing the quality of dialog.

Warrior of ego.....Don't discrace the Native American community with your ignorance. We are better than your words.
What a shame
|June.19.2012
Ha ha ha ha ha.
This string of comments proves that this joke of a website has been reduced to the level of Topix, although Topix is better.

Jean was there, why didn't you put your big boy pants on, all of you, and ask him about his past instead of slithering around like a bunch of maggots posting crap on Topix about him?
Answer: Because you are powerless, sissy nothings.

Yes, because Marc has shown such fear for these people in the past. Especially the Orange Corpulent One with the visible dark cloud of rage and frustration hanging over his head like Pigpen in Snoopy.
