7/4/12 -- Vallejo FD was called out to a marsh fire in River Park off of Wilson Ave. just after 3 PM.

According to sources, two young asian males were seen fleeing the area after the fire began to develop. Witnesses reported hearing a loud "BANG!!" shortly before seeing flames.

The incident, which burned approximately three acres, is being looked at as an arson.

Nope. Fireworks and dry tule weeds don't mix.

Agreed on great coverage of our city. It's nice to have a news source that actually loves the city on which it reports.

We watched the fire nervously from our backyards up the hill. Fire in River Park has become an annual event, it seems. I am hopeful that with the economy improving, perhaps we'll see more frequent weed abatement. On the other hand, GVRD, the west side could sure use a nice big natural setting dog park
