10/11/12 – Police evacuated the area around 3000 block of Georgia St. at some point before 5 PM today due to fears over bomb making activities. According to neighbors, a man (name not released) was apparently squatting in the house at 3714 Georgia St. Local residents say there have been frequent “M-80 like” detonations emanating from inside or near the residence for several months. The man living at 3714 Georgia was described as “difficult to deal with” by neighbors present this afternoon, who described him as acting aggressively, and yelling without provocation.
According to witnesses at the scene, a man was arrested when he emerged from 3714 Georgia, apparently to see what was going on. He is being described as a “person of interest” by police.
20-30 law enforcement were present including officers from Vallejo PD, Vallejo SWAT, Solano Sheriff and Napa plus bomb squad personnel, Vallejo FD and the FBI. Explosive materials apparently were found in the basement of the home.
Why be insulting? Are you a neighbor who reported suspicious behavior and did not get any action or follow up?
I quoted from the article provided. Has nothing to do with flapping any lips.
If something of this magnitude happens for months as stated without any actions by the authorities, who notified whom, when and with how much urgency?
Fireworks of any kind are prohibited in Vallejo, period, and especially M80's who are pretty major stuff in my book.
If my neighbor (a squatter at that with a propensity to yell unprovoked!) was tinkering with explosive materials I would beat a path to the PD and would not leave their Lobby without someone checking the concerns I would have.
But I do live in an area with a large amount of vegetation and hilly terrain that could burn freely if M80

Gets the facts before you let your lips flap.
Residents called the police several times over the past few months. It was only when they received a tip from the roommate he was making bombs did the Police react.

Just some questions:
If it is indeed true that M80 like detonations emanated from inside this house for months and an individual described as a squatter living @ 3714 who not only was difficult to deal with, but was acting aggressively and yelling without provocations, why did it take so long for the authorities to be notified?
Was the individual who emerged from the house the same one that acted out over the prior months or was he someone other than the yeller?
It appears that we may have again experienced the Vallejo syndrome of noting but not reporting?
What tipped the scales this time around after months of tolerating anti social behavior by a known squatter who had major noise makers at this house?

Investigation

Way past time for the FBI and BATF to come into Vallejo and do a thorough investigation and sweep of all this various criminal activities. Things are getting out of control, so we need to find out if everything that is going on -- bomb-making, grow houses, prostitution, gang-banging, etc., etc. -- is part of an entrenched organized crime group of people that have embedded themselves in Vallejo knowing that Vallejo has an understaffed police department.
