Vague Omelet ?? |
The Captain loves a good meal. Thing is the 'ol Captain demands to
know what he's eating. When you're cookin' with politics you need to be
damn sure you know what's being served up in the galley. A bad meal can mean
indigestion. Not a pleasant prospect in stormy seas. So, don't vote
for the political meal you can't identify....or it'll be four long years of Aargh!!!
Osby Davis and Terry Curtola have had a parting of
the ways from what we hear. Could this have to do with the fact that Mr. Davis
has said some rather strong things about the fire union contract and most were
not flattering? ( which has many of us wondering) In any event, Curtola
got to
the point that he had done his best at guiding Osby away from that strong
position against the union contract and it wasn't working.
Now this is where connecting the dots gets even
better. Why is Curtola in the Davis camp to begin with? The firefighters
polling guy says that Pitts is not doing so hot and the union figures that
they need to get someone in another campaign so if Davis does do well then
they march in and take the credit.. They tried the same thing two years ago
with Richard Hassel (former chair of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce who
contemplated running for city council 2 years ago) but it blew up in Henke's face.
We know they would not have the ability to
infiltrate Gary Cloutier's campaign as his committee was formed many months
ago and, besides ,there is no way that Gary would allow Henke within three
miles of his campaign , and their
support of Villaneueva would not change his position at the bottom of
the foursome.
And Mr. Davis, those things you say at the
campaign forums-I believe you have even said that you cannot go into specifics
on a few items. This is leading me to conclude that like Darrell Edwards you
are "vague". Does this make you a contender for the "King of
Vague", along with Mr. Edwards and the "Queen of Vague" Mrs.
Hannigan. We are looking at a three" vague "omelet here pretty soon.
By the way Mr. Davis, we recognize that you focus
your add in the yellow pages on representing landlords in evictions. Does
that come from representing developers before the City Council. No time for
tenants in your practice Osby? How does this qualify you to make life better
for all of us?
Another interesting aside about Mr. Davis that he
doesn't want people to know about (so don't tell anyone) is that he lives in
Hiddenbrooke. It seems he moved there a few years ago and has been trying to
keep it quiet. We wonder why he doesn't tell anyone that he lives there. All
that does is add to the deep divide that permeates so many other aspects of
our society.
Politics does make for strange bunkmates, always has
and always will.
Think
about it.
