Stop the Violence in Vallejo Vigil

12/15/13 -- There have been 26 homicides in Vallejo this year. Tonight citizens gathered at the waterfront to hold a vigil against violence. Approximately 75 people lit candles, spoke and listened.

where are you getting your crime stats concerning where crimes are committed and where the perps live? or are you just repeating what you assume to be true?

Creast, College Park, Millerville, South Vallejo. This is where most of the crime is or the perpetrators come from.

Why not have a vigil in the neighborhoods with robberies, break ins, assaults, and murders.

There have been 25 or 26 homocides in Vallejo this year. I don't know about the "suspected" homocide, but including the police shootings is correct.

Homocide does mean murder, but rather the killing of a human being by another.

The police shootings resulting in killing of anther person must be included in this count. Whether the determination is justifiable shooting by the officers, just means no criminal charges would be filed against any of the officers.

The police contribute to a high number of homocides. I believe it was 6 last year, and 3 this year.

And the City
Council is deciding tonight whether to approve a $225,000 settlement to the family of a man the police shot and killed using a Taser in 2004.

Homicide is the killing of a human being by another. This can occur in the course of commendable performance of duty, but is still homicide.
Union counts cops as murders   |December.16.2013
There have NOT Been 26 homicides in Vallejo.
Rachael of the Times Herald always includes the three Police shootings and one suspected homicide in her stats.
So far the cops have not been charged with anything. Now what is rely sick is that the scare add/letter letter written by the Vallejo Police Union Bosses states that 26 MURDERS took place in Vallejo this year. If this statement is true than we have 3 or more murders in our police department.Well done Matt...I'm happy to know that you don' represent my union-in fact you don't represent your union very well either.
