5/2/10--Mare Island Straits

Racing sail filled the space between Vallejo and Mare Island today as the second leg of the annual San Francisco--Mare Island race got started.

 

The race is one of the largest sailing competitions to be seen anywhere and is held every year.

 

A steady wind filled spinnakers as competitors headed for San Francisco after overnighting in and around Vallejo.
