At 17 years of age, cellist Nathan Chan has already logged almost two decades of making world-class music - from his remarkable debut as a three-year-old conductor of the San Jose Symphony, to his guest appearances on records by Roberta Flack, on HBO and the BBC, and performing with orchestras from the Bay Area to San Diego to Singapore.

An expressive and inspirational young star, Chan takes the stage as an SFCO Debut Artist for a six-concert performance series of music by Mozart (Symphonies No. 1 and No. 40), Tchaikovsky (Rococo Variations for Cello and Orchestra) and Jon Deak (Ugly Duckling).

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra's mission is to present first-class performances with the Bay Area's top musicians at absolutely no cost to the community - all made possible by a growing community of generous funders and individual members.
