Waterfront Mural Vandalized

Recall proponents deface private property

It would seem that vandalism is viewed as a valid political tool by some proponents of the recall effort against Councilmembers Stephanie Gomes and Marti Brown. In the past days, the waterfront mural painted adjacent to the Front Room restaurant near Vallejo's Ferry Building and facing the water was defaced to carry the message, “Recall Gomes & Brown” and “U.T.S.!!” *

According to sources, surveillance camera footage reveals the two men engaged in the vandalism. VIB will keep you up to date should the footage become available.

The mural, originally painted by members of the community was a project headed by muralist Derrick O'Keefe with assistance from Sam Kurshan. Both men are now strongly outspoken proponents of the recall action aimed at Gomes and Brown.
