5/28/12 -- Here is the press conference from today at noon regarding last night's VPD officer involved fatal shooting of Anton Barret Sr.  

According to Sgt. Jeffery Bassett, Vallejo PD Public Information Officer,  Barrett sped away from officers on a DUI patrol.

Pursuit continued on foot on Old Wilson Ave. and ended when a police officer confronted Barrett in a darkened apartment breezeway.

Police say, Barrett produced a metallic wallet which was mistaken for a gun by the police officer, who shot him several times.
