Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

The concept of bonds paid by the occupants of this new "Gateway" is similar to what is going on at Mare Island. The few homeowners there pick up the full tab for utility services that were projected to be spread out to full buildout. So those poor folks pay a couple thousand $ extra on their tax bills. Think that might disuade future buyers? Think the same thing at the Fairgrounds make leasing out the space there impossble when the risk is so high and there is lots of much cheaper vacant space along the Solano Boulevard corridor? We are heading over the fiscal cliff with the
cheerleaders sitting safely on the sidelines. I get it...crossroads of two major freeways? That is where any future planner with an ounce of sense would site a shopping center. Vallejo has more than one of these opportunities. Fairgrounds are a dying concept. The County would be better served to hook up with Lennar and create a Expo complex like Fort Mason in San Francisco out of some of those fabulous vacant historic landmarks. Like the Arsenale in Venice, that, in itself, would be a draw. Synergy folks.....

Hello? Why don't you yell at the County and hold them accountable for voting to take on all the risk for this project. Yes, those are our tax dollars also. But holding Keen and the city council responsible because the county made a risky decision is I said Jean is doing his job in the council has to step up and do assume responsibility county supervisors don't crazy. Call Hannigan and Seifert and make them explain their actions. They are our county elected representatives.

Seifert and Hannigan are incompetent cheerleaders for the county and political wannabes.
Seiferts ass was kicked by the Vallejo city council during the HB 109 debacle. Our city Council had to protect us from the incompetency of our county representatives. Neither Siefert or Hannigan do their homework. The city manager by job definition takes his marching orders from the city council. I'm not blaming the city Council this crisis I'm only saying they're only our only hope. In my original post I was only trying to state the facts as I see them and not meaning to criticize the Council or Keen.
Race Card   |May.15.2013
We should not mention color or race and now we could not even mention a geographic area?

Fighting back is all good and will bring changes in the future but the fact is a lot more criminal activities are happening around 360 project area.

The most recent ones are around the little league baseball fields. I did not know the race of the person/persons who made the shots but it happened there.

most likely city employees getting kickbacks from developer of project. investigate and build files on city employees and you will find the stinking fish in the form of bribes, etc...

re: "The pilferage, robbery and vandalism rates for this project will likely eclipse all
other areas of Vallejo due to the proximity to Country Club Crest."

WOW, another racist rant from VIB. Haven't you heard that The Crest is taking back it's neighborhood? Read the article from Monday about the Carriage Oaks people and how they used Nextdoor Country Club Crest and Neighborhood Watch to organize and fight back. This Fairgrounds project is good timing, will force City Hall to improve The Crest in parallel.
Dumb for Vallejo   |May.15.2013
Carpet bagger mentality for the county to push another Bast@rd project on the people of Vallejo.

Sorry dan you are looking like a chump here... uninvited those 360 folks and consider a career change. Before we all get caught up in the Chumpery!!!

One of the issues I noted in the report was the chart of revenue per capita showing Vallejo at the bottom. It looks like the consultant and city staff may have assumed Vallejo's low per capita number comes from a shortfall in retail floor space. Many of us know better, there is plenty of available floor space in Vallejo sitting idle. Vallejo suffers from a poor and violent demographic of black people that drive Vallejoans out of Vallejo for shopping while preventing outsiders from coming into Vallejo to shop. The pilferage, robbery and vandalism rates for this project will likely eclipse all
other areas of Vallejo due to the proximity to Country Club Crest. The proximity to the freeway also makes for a convenient getaway after a armed holdup.

Oh, The expression on Kurshan's face: PRICELESS!!!!

Since Vallejo is in Solano County- ultimately we as Solano County taxpayers pick up the tab if the revenues are not what we hoped them to be. While Mr Keen may be doing a good job of protecting the city of Vallejo I don't believe he is protecting us from the potential financial burdens we may face as county taxpayers on the hook big time. It's not his job as city manager to assume that responsibility and so the City Council needs to step up and direct Mr Keen in this regard.

Shame on You C/M Keen We had such high hopes for you . Now We see you are just another Municipal Milker lined up for a juicy retirement at Our expence . You have the gall to defend a major ripoff of
those that pay you . "Begone I say" back to Your halls of Milch toast and Misrepresentation or a fat retirement You were so destined for . Will You personally invest in 360 ? I bet if your retirement funds were part of the financing package Your tune would be different .. there is more to this Town than You realise , look listen and learn
or leave .

VIB is desperate. Even Keen is against VIB.
VIB is politically dead if they go against County yet again.
Firebug   |May.14.2013
avatar Wow Mr. Keen,
nothing you have provided shows that this will be remotely profitable for the city of vallejo. If you werent asking the temporary Measure B monies to fix your financial mess one might be inclined to listen tom you. You have little credibli lity unless of course you could show real expenditure savings......
