Carissa Carpenter: Eccentric Studio Exec. or Genius of the Flim Flam?

6/14/13 -- Sacramento Bee investigative article takes a closer look at Carissa Carpenter who became known in Vallejo for her alleged efforts to open a movie studio on Mare Island. Carpenter is currently pushing another project in Dixon, CA, but the Sac. Bee article raises serious questions over Carpenter's past track record and legal action taken against her. Carpenter even implies malfeasance by former Vallejo City Manager Phil Batchelor. Good Grief!

GC'er   |June.15.2013 In reality the studio deal was not that far fetched and with the name dropping that happened, more than a few people were duped. I was hoping... There is nothing wrong with admitting to have rooted for the wrong team, white washing and making excuses would be another story. When the money did not materialize but millions more were on the as always invisable table, I began to realize things were not as they appeared. The sad thing is that where ever this woman goes, the trust people have in others is broken, may that be Vallejo, Dixon, Newman and many others. Greed may make the lies this woman dishes palatable. I am certain we will hear a lot more about this scam artist!

Salt do not lean back in that china chair or traction will be iminent in your future . What surprises me is that this con artist duped Marc for a time , She must be good at Her avocation "Marc is no pushover" I dought I could ever "hustle Him" yet She did for a time One must wonder what She has pulled off over the years , being in Her fifties She may have decades of cons and probably numerous names and phony adresses etc: . I bet She even had a prayer meeting with Osby in His office officiated by a popular Pastor repleate with a full lenth fur coat . If I was a writer Vallejo would be a cornucopia of content for a humerous Novel .

Anonymous   |June.15.2013 Marc, thanks for posting. Sounds good initially, but then, as we all do, we begin asking questions and looking at the realities of financing and the players behind the deal. This woman has had 2 pacemakers in 2003-2004 after being "lost" and unconscious for a month in Europe, a serious infection around her heart from dental work, now a hysterectomy, and identity theft. Such "bad luck!!!" SOunds like the Dixon folks are catching on that she will not be following through with the deal. No $100,000 check, no purchase agreements or escrow on the 500 acres - only "intent to sell" letters. And IBEW thinking of investing its pension? Wow, can anyone believes this woman after this article? Especially after watching 11 minutes of her try to answer all of the questions about lawsuits, judgments and liens. Oh, and not to forget, Phil Batchelor was going to take her money and send it off to a Swiss Bank..... Hear that VPOA? That is where Vallejo is hiding its money!!!! What a bizarre person.

No Big Deal   |June.15.2013 We all make mistakes, the difference is some will acknowledge the mistakes they made and move on while others will stick with their mistakes forever because they wanted to be "RIGHT". Thanks Marc for the great contribution you made for the community.

Given all the scummy,scammy crap going down nationally and an about face foreign policy to cover all the scammy scum, you can't be faulted for falling for the local version of scammy,sleazy,scummy lies foisted by one female scumbag.
