Empress Theatre to Close for Restructure
1/30/09 By Marc Garman
The Empress Theatre in downtown Vallejo will be closing--TEMPORARILY. The plan is to close for 6 to 8 weeks to allow for a restructure of programming and finance. Mostly finance. The grand lady has to take some time to tuck in her tattered undergarments and reconsider the best way to continue forward in these difficult economic times.
We hope to see the theatre open and be able to continue after the restructure. A source close to the theatre management indicated that financial plans written in better times need to be re-written. More on this story as the facts come in.
