Ghosts of Mare Island

Many of the once useful buildings on Mare Island are falling apart. They have been left open and unguarded. Copper wiring and other items of value have been stolen. Open doors and broken windows provide access for vandals, thieves, drug addicts and others intent on criminal activity. These are potentially dangerous places for juveniles or the unwary. Even though many buildings are slated for eventual demolition, they pose a hazard today. Is this acceptable?
