“The H. Martin Foundation is true and real.” --Pastor Rey Bernardes

10/2/09

By Marc Garman

Despite the warning signs, Pastor Rey Bernardes continues to pursue a relationship between the H. Martin Foundation (HMF)of Indonesia and his Global Center for Success on Mare Island.  According to an article published in the Fil-Am Star, Bernardes faith in HMF remains unwavering and he continues to associate with them in hopes of securing funding.  This despite the numerous questions raised by VIB and in the recent Times Herald article.  Below are two articles that appear in the Fil-Am Star.  They are written by Eduardo M. Yra who is also Bernardes' brother in law.

Vallejo charity group under fire

Sep 27, 03:30 AM

By EDUARDO YRA

VALLEJO (Calif.) — A well-known public charity organization, founded in 2001 by a Filipino-American and based in this city’s Mare Island, has unknowingly, if not unwillingly, put itself under censure as community leaders expressed serious fears and concerns over the non-profit’s proposed partnership with an Indonesian-Filipino foundation.

Negotiations are underway that would allow Vallejo’s Global Center for Success (GCS), under Pastor Rey Bernardes, to receive funding for its charity projects from the Indonesia-born H. Martin Foundation Far East Humanitarian Services (HMF), which. is solely represented in the U.S. by its vice world chair and co-founder on record, Flor Lat Villapando, a Fil-Am operating out of Los Angeles.

Vallejo editor talks on proposed GCS-HMF ties

Sep 27, 02:58 AM

Below is the full transcript of the interview FilAm Star Vallejo correspondent, Eduardo Yra, did with Vallejo Independent Bulletin (VIB) editor Marc Garman, whom we sought so he may express his views on the proposed tie-up between Mare Island-based Global Center for Success (GCS) and H. Martin Foundation Far East Humanitarian Services (HMF) of Indonesia.

FAS: What made you believe that HMF is not a legitimate humanitarian organization?

Garman: That question is really best explained by the series of articles put forward on VIB. In short, not one claim by the H. Martin Foundation checks out. They have apparently lied about their affiliations with organizations such as Worldcare Inc. and their corporate entities in California and Nevada are either suspended or in default.

There are simply a string of red flags and not a single fact that checks out in five months of research. There is not one example of a humanitarian project completed by HMF.
