City Council Candidates Forum

The first City Council Candidates Forum took place Sunday, October 4 at the Masonic Temple in the hills overlooking the city. Participants included candidates Tom Bartee, Marti Brown, Stephanie Gomes, Sam Kurshan, Johnathan Logan, and Hermie Sunga. Marie “Punkie” Nelson was unable to attend.

Topics included: bankruptcy, binding arbitration, the general plan, fairgrounds development, schools, sustainability and the environment, business development, the police contract, the strong mayor form of government, dry dock re-use, casino revenue, city manager retention, the Utility Users' Tax (UUT) and more.
