Vatican rebukes prelate denying heaven to gays and transsexuals
http://blogs.reuters.com/faithworld/2009/12/03/vatican-rebukes-prelate-denying-heaven-to-gays-and-transsexuals/

A Roman Catholic Cardinal has told homosexuals and transsexuals they would never get into heaven, prompting a rebuke from the Vatican itself.

"Transsexuals and homosexuals will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven, it

Hey Michael Wilson.... your sin of being gay is like a child molesters sin in that they are both sins according to the Holy Emperor Oz .The mayor could have used any example of a sin but he chose the most vile and hurtful to compare you to. You guys make strange political bedfellows indeed!

You,(Michael and OZ) hurt the gay community and the more loving communities of faith.

This country was founded mostly by agnostics who believed in the separation of church and state. Our first president may very well have been gay and most historians have come the conclusion that Honest Abe was
gay.

If George and Abe are in hell Mr Davis, where do you think you will be going? Well the answer is nowhere. You're in hell now and you put yourself there.

Ramen!! Let's go!
I Wonder   |December.02.2009
I wonder if the mayor was Muslim, and stated that it was his belief that anyone other than those of the Muslim faith were sinners that would not be admitted to heaven, would the "ozzy faith community" still feel the same? Freedom of Speech and all? Would the other ozzy supporters say it's okay?

I am trying to see if we can have the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and the pastafarian followers, to come hold prayer in the Council Chambers next month. I think it's time for some of their outreach with their noodley appendages. Let's all say "Ramen"!

Good question about Cloutier compared to Davis.

Skills qualify and recklessness disqualifies.

I don't know if Gary's skills are better than Osby's or not. Gary had deeper and longer term knowledge of Vallejo's problems and issues, so I voted for him.

Gary's incident and Osby's series of incidents demonstrate reckless, but they are not the same.

Gary was not speaking as mayor; Osby was.

Gary got drunk and sat in his car; he didn't drive nor hurt anybody else. He embarrassed himself.

Osby got arrogant and spoke as mayor; he allowed a religious prayer revival to infiltrate
city hall; he demeaned a group of people based on his religious beliefs. He embarrassed himself and he embarrassed Vallejo. He hurt others and he hurt Vallejo.

As such they cannot really be said to be comparable at any level.

Meant "qualify" noy "quantify"
Anonymous   |December.02.2009
I'll tell you the difference between the way the handled themselves. Cloutier gave a humble heart-felt apology. He didn't make one single attempt to quantify his behavior.

Davis only apologized for getting caught ("out of context". Had Davis made a genuine apology without all the gaffs, he could have taken control of the situation. If he reached out and said, I will work with the Gay Community to find common ground, ways to work togehter, etc, etc. He should still do that. If he does, thats what he'll be remembered for in two years. If he doesn't, he'll be remembered as the
gay hater. We'll see how that translates to the polls in two years.

So here's a question. If Davis is unfit to be mayor because of his statement to the press, was Gary unfit to be mayor due to what he did in Palm Springs? I voted for both these men, in different elections.

Anony, have you not heard the New York Times being the newspaper of record in the country? Yes, I thought not, yet it has been so for decades. But being that you probably haven't seen the rest of the country - or the world for that matter - you wouldn't understand the significance of the stupid, backwoods, narrow-minded, Christian Fundamentalists un-Christ-like words in the newspaper of record. Osby did a very bad thing, he spoke to a real journalist (unlike the cub reporters we have here) and forgot to put on his Mayor hat.

You lost. You and your ilk will sit in those nasty old La-z-boys
while Vallejo will move forward without you. You can defend the (un)great Oz but know Ozzy has a whole string of screw ups, not just this most recent and spectacular gaff, and many are just waiting for the final implosion.

Davis is unfit to be mayor. His quotes "taken out of context" were bad enough. Now that I hear the context, I'm even more appalled.

He equates gay people with a whole slough of "sinners": murderers, lying, unforgiving, [drug addicts, child molesters] all kinds of sins,

He backpeddles and says he is NOT trying to equate (analyse) gay people with these other sinners but then he says a sin is a sin, anyone who commits a sin won't get into heaven.

Davis talks out of both sides of his mouth. He absolutely says gay people are not welcome.

Sorry Mr Davis, you do NOT
represent me, you are NOT my mayor and I did NOT vote for you.

Oh, Mayor Davis. You are so handsome and distinguished. Will you be my daddy? On the DL, of course. I am very discreet. Praise the Lord and pass the condoms!

Why do you guys push the New York Times as it is some media outlet that is the most revered in the Country??? The guy (???) that wrote the article is a reporter from SFGate and is what we call a "stringer", The Times picked it up because it was controversial and it made an African American Mayor in California look bad. Don't try to make us think that Vallejo is important enough to be tracked down by a BIG New York newspaper (considered a rag back there.) In fact the reporter was contacted by our own "Editnator" Mark to continue his feeling of self-importnace, who then had him
interview the self designated Catholic ???? Priest
Bodisso and the never elected "One Day Drunken Mayor" Cloutier, after which they set up our over "self-annointed" Mayor Davis, who immediately drank the kool-aid......Who lost? VALLEJO....pc
