Disgruntled Democrats join tea party (CNN.com)

Democrats Fall....you said that white males will leave the democratic party! Hello!

Let's talk about the 800 pound gorilla in the room. In 1964, the Republican party race baited Southern Democrats and all those good Dixie-crats became Republicans and have been Republicans ever since. The Republican party has become more identified with White males, both in the south and elsewhere, than with any other group. George Bush proved that as a White male you can be of below average intelligence and accomplishment and still count on receiving the white male vote. Nothing new there.

Please
remember that Republicans controlled the White house for eight years and Congress for six, and did absolutely nothing to improve America's health care system. As the the new health care legislation unfolds Americans will have an opportunity to witness first hand the improvements that the health care bill brings to all Ameicans.

Interesting that during the reconciliation process Republicans didn't bring up the issue of death panels. Maybe that's because there never were any.

Democrats can count on progressive white males, women, and people of color. People of color are increasing their
representational share of the electorate faster than conservative whie males can produce more conservative white males.

White men shun Democrats (Times Union, Albany NY)

Millions of white men who voted for Barack Obama are walking away from the Democratic Party, and it appears increasingly likely that they'll take the midterms elections in November with them. Their departure could well lead to a GOP landslide on a scale not seen since 1994.

White men have moved away from Obama as well. The same proportion of white women approve of him -- 46 percent,
according to Gallup -- as voted for him in 2008. But only 38 percent of white men approve of the President, which means that millions of white men who voted for Obama have now lost faith in him.

The migration of white men from the Democratic Party was evident in the election of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts. His opponent, a white woman, won 52 percent of white women. But white men favored Brown by a 60 percent to 38 percent margin, according to Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates polling.

It's no accident that the flight of white males from the Democratic Party has come as the
government has assumed a bigger role, including in banking and health care. Among whites, 71 percent of men and 56 percent of women favor a smaller government with fewer services over a larger government with more services, according to ABC/Washington Post polling.

Are these gentlemen the cream of the crop for the next seat of state government? wow. A lot to consider for the primary.

It is a thankless job. there are many forces coming at the representative and priorities always shift.I must be hard for any one candidate to stay focused on a issue for their tenure in public office.

The brief showing of candidate Wilson was poor. I do not feel that he has the fire and brimstone to create a very big buzz about his candidacy.

I did not view the others.

Does the Local Republican party affiliation have a horse in this race? Marc, please advise.

Thanks.

Best regards..

I do have concerns with Lee Pierce/Big Box.

But the Michaels--sheesh, could we get two worse candidates? One who has already sold out our City to the PSUs and the other--given the track record of his boss, Wiggins (co-author of AB155?) and the current assemblywoman Evans (don't vote for BK!), I have no doubt he'll be in the PSUs pockets.

Lee Pierce is the only one I can vote for.
More than one thing   |March.27.2010
Joe, we all know how passionate you are about Walmart but there's a whole big state we are a part of Walmart/big box stores are makes up a very small part of the issues to be concerned about. Don't let your myopia get in the way of greater food for the greater number. Wilson & Allen have both shown themselves to be beholden to the very unions who are sucking this city and our state dry. Pierce's stand on one store in one town does not equate to being "a piece of garbage". Beware the union label!
Living In Oz   |March.27.2010
Candidate Wilson's "presentation." Pathetic is the word that comes to mind. Absolutely no accomplishments as an elected official. The only tools he has used while on City Council which he will take with him to Sacramento are the PSU's money and PSU's directions. Pathetic.
Joe Feller   |March.26.2010
I can't believe the level of hypocrisy of this Lee Pierce. This is the guy who is funded by Wal-Mart. He has voted consistently in favor of big boxes in Santa Rosa. How can he say with a straight face that he is for "keeping money local" when the money in a Wal-Mart or any other big box does not even reside over night. What a piece of garbage.

IT'S SAD THAT THE ONLY POSITIVE THING GOING ON IN VALLEJO (RUSCAL'S YOUTH INITIATIVE AS REPORTED IN HIS COMMENTARY)HAS ONLY ONE RESPONSE: MINE. NOT ONE OF YOU HARPERS HAS ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT OUR YOUTH WHO ARE TRYING. YOU SHOULD ALL MAYBE JUST TAKE YOUR WHINEY ASSES FOR A RIDE OUTTA TOWN. YOU DON'T DESERVE A BETTER VALLEJO BECAUSE YOU WON'T ENDORSE WHAT'S GOOD. YOU JUST HARP ABOUT THINGS BEYOND YOUR CONTROL. JEEZ! BEST TO YOU RUSCAL! MAYBE MOVE TO SF WHERE YOU'LL BE APPRECIATED. THESE VIB CREEPS SURE DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR 'EM.

If they aren't, they should! No editing required. Simply add text and air.

Does anyone else think that Michaels opponents might be using some of Marc's footage on the for attack adds?
Another Anon   |March.25.2010
I have been asked that question in job interviews for positions that hardly had the responsibility of a city council or higher. He cannot answer the question because he has done NOTHING but further damage this city and now he has the audacity to ask for a higher office? I would not leave him in charge of a lemonade stand on a hot day.
LMAO   |March.25.2010
**tears**

That was some of the most painfully funny footage I have ever seen.

Wilson: "Is there anybody who doesn't know me who would like to ask a question, please?" As he looks at what must be Marc behind the camera with a panic in his squeegy eyes. You think he wetted his drawers knowing no one was gonna save him and fearing what Marc might ask?

Another priceless moment, when he talks about bringing businesses back to Vallejo. I shouted at my screen, "You mean like YOUR business that you took OUT of Vallejo???".

Those other guys were sure pro's (I guess next to
Mike, even the pizza came out looking a lot better than he did).
Voter   |March.25.2010
Meant to add - I agree: Lee Pierce!
He could have a great slogan "My Name Isn't Michael" hehe.
Voter   |March.25.2010
I agree - Diana asked him a question common amoung candidate forums!

I think what "got" Wilson is it was a Vallejoan who asked him the question, a Vallejoan who knows he has no record.

Diana & MArc's BS meter would be off the chart if Wilson started lying and he KNEW they wouldn't let him get away with it. Wilson must have read "wilson lite" the other day!

So Kudos to Diana and Marc for being there, as witnesses. You never know what slippery crap will slip out of his mouth without witnesses. Just look at his website or his no on A argument. Complete BS, slippery
half-truths.
Lee Fan   |March.25.2010
I like Lee Pierce. He is not a bought and paid for candidate unlike the 2 Michaels. You don't think that's reason enough? Study Vallejo politics for the last 20 years and you'll know that is reason enough.
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
I don't think Diana got him good. She just asked him a question that any candidate for office should be prepared to answer. If not prepared, a candidate shouldn't have a hard time coming up with a few accomplishments if he/she has been in office. How completely sad that he's done nothing in two years. What a waste.
Not an M. Wilson Supporter!   |March.25.2010
I LOVE IT!!! DIANA GOT YOU GOOD!!!! Thank you Diana! Thank you!!!!

Uh... duh... Uh... 3 more minutes? I've got to pull 2 more blah blah's out of my uh... what was I saying? Can you repeat the question???... Crap! I have to leave for another meeting that I do absolutely NOTHING for!
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
M. Wilson - OMG!!! Seriously??? I think I am going to be !!!!!
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
Don't forget this gem: If I could get you to become a supporter that would be the highlight of my career.

Right you are Mike. No argument from me.
PIZZA GUY   |March.25.2010
He looked like he was waiting for his pepperoni pizza to come into the room any time.

OMG
Rule number one. never, never talk to voters in a PIZZA PARLOR.

Rule number two. Don't answer Diana Lang's questions. They just might get to the point about why you should be elected. NOT
CRRAAAZY   |March.25.2010
Wow, I actually feel bad seeing him bumble around for an accomplishment. Maybe we can ask all city council members, city manager, consultants and the Mayor the same question? Ran out of time right when Marc Garman is trying to ask a question, LOL.
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
Oy vey. If this goy were my kid, I would be embarrassed beyond words. He characterizes the excesses of greed and food. Does his mother know what he is doing? His dad? The zoo keeper?

Oy, oy, oy. He disgraces the institution of marriage and the hard-fought-for rights of working class Americans. He took his company and fled Vallejo as soon as he was appointed by the fire and police unions. There is nothing, NOTHING good to say about this creature.
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
Go to about 16 min - wow Mikey, trying to pull the three things out of your butt.
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
Michael Wilson: yawn...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Anonymous   |March.25.2010
Ed Sullivan -- without the humor or intelligence. That is scary accurate.
Good Job   |March.25.2010
Can you tell us three things you've accomplished as a city of Vallejo council member and how they relate to the job of Assemblyman?

Tooo Funnny. At least he got through the first half of the first question before the wheels groung to a hault. His accomplishment, the only one he could think of, was increasing fiscal responsibility "exponentially". Of course the comments only came three hours before he voted to approve the IAFF contract that isn't supported by the budget.
Sonic Toad   |March.25.2010
avatar OMG, Wilson looks like Ed Sullivan in a monologue. Welcome to the shoooow.
