Back in the day when Mr. Jones walked by, we straightened up our act. If anyone deserves a high ranking position in Vallejo, it's Mr. Jones. He has worked with Vallejo's kids for a long time. He is respected by the kids. In my opinion, I beleive Joe Jones to be professional, strict, and most importantly impartial.

To judge him b/c he is Christian without having any knowledge of him is the same prejudice and hate that Vallejo's Faith Community used against Lou Bordisso.

This very genteel inquisitional format informed me of
not only the educational and experiential qualifications of Mr. Joe Jones, it showed how
Joe Jones thinks about and processes his life, his
relations with others, and makes his decisions.
As the interview unfolded, I saw an honorable,
honest, dedicated-to-the-education-of students,
intelligent man-- not a brimstone and damnation Baptist with a hidden agenda who could barely express a thoughtful opinion.

Meant to add - beautiful setting for an interview. Vallejo is a beautiful place. And the video -- so nicely done, I like the two camera angles (agree: WooHoo!)

Mr Jones is an impressive gentleman. I didn't know anything about him and so I must thank you VIB, Marc & Father Lou for giving us the opportunity to meet Jones! This website is such a great resource to Vallejoans and Solano County residents.

I'm not religious at all, but I think this is an interesting angle for an interview. Gets really at the character of the person. I don't believe that character comes from going to church or being religious, but it can provide a baseline for a person. I did not at all get the feeling that Joe would impose his personal beliefs on the school system, the employees or the students. His answer to the question about a gay/lesbien club really gets to the bottom of all of it. Appeared to be no personal belief imposed and the betterment of the school was what was most important. Excellent job Father

Shouldn't the schools and religion be separate? I thought the separation of church and state was important. Why would a candidate for schools even want to share their religion? Do we care? Isn't it irrelevant?

Seems strange how religion and politics are so intertwined in Vallejo. I do not care which church they attend, I care about what they can do to help Vallejo. Osby claims to be religious as well, what good has that done?
