Interesting, part time City Manager makes 2nd highest Salary...Police and Fire...we see why they rule, money talks; the mayors additional income is $10,000 under his salary...interesting. City Council rakes amoung the lowest between Police part time Cadets and Part time Public Works minor personel...How many ways can you say this is really out of whack?! Oh, you don't have to, one need only read the list!

Millionaire Boys Club

That's right, at my house we like to refer to the $100,000 + earners as the "Millionaire Boys Club." When ever we see a firetruck we point and say "hey look, a million dollars just drove by." Hey, my husband works construction, for years police and fire made just a bit more than construcion blue collar workers, they are after all "blue collar workers." Construction workers (include plumbers, roofers, painters, electricians, tapers, rockers etc) earn on average $50,000-$70,000 a year with overtime. They usually fund their own retirement and have basic heathcare.
Being a construction worker is dangerous work, you spend a lot of time on roofs and ladders and come in contact with high voltage. Every year construction workers are killed "in the line of duty" by falling and high voltage. No one make s big deal out of it, there are not hugh televised funerals in fact most folks think "poor working slob..." Now I only point this out because every life is as valuable as the next, you can work hard and earn a good living without raping and bankrupting a city, without forming a "millionaire boys club."

Holy crap! Well....not surprising...after all if you want to attract the best talent, the compensation has to be attractive.

Where have I heard that before? Usually from those who don't pay the final tab.

Seriously, for a city that is so obviously strapped, these wages are largely beyond the pale. Outageously so.

These salaries are outrageous! Really? What universe is this? Because it isn't the one I'm living and working in for sure. It's just so hard to keep the faith that something will change.
